Can anyone help me i'm confused about grim fandango? >.<?

soz but its near the middle of the screen wat the walkthroughs are saying is right wen u follow the way the arrow points only move a tiny bit and if u have a joypad u can run but i dont no if u can run with keyboard, completed this game a couple of months ago it is soo awesome.
