Response to katrina vs. response to ike?

It will be interesting as the difference the demographics of the population will react differently. It will have more to do with the population who will be affected, and how they react together to handle this storm, more than what any agency or governmental istance will take place. Just as with the flooding earlier this year. The people will get what they need and take it more upon themselves to get back to where they were. That and what happened with Katrina, was of a larger scale than anything in recent history, which means it overwhelmed the resources available to handle the situation. If the plan had been in place to handle something like Katrina at that time, and the people reacted as requested, the entire situation would not have been as devastating as it was. We need to remember that any plan or recovery starts at the local level, then the state, then IF needed the federal level not the other way around.
