When they do an alignment, can an alignment mess up the brakes?

I took my F250 in for an alignment They had to replace the back springs, one was broken, then they did the alignment. I took it home about a mile away. The next day on the maiden voyage, the truck started swerving when I applied the brakes and then it started shaking. I pulled over right away and the front driver side wheel was smokin'. I was told the caliper was shot and the rotor. Would an alignment mess with the brakes?
